Wed 26th April - Fri 28th April
11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Community and School groups are invited to visit the new exhibition by talented local artist Johanna Nulty and to discuss the work with the artist on 26, 27 and 28 April.

The first solo exhibition by talented emerging artist Johanna Nulty opens at Townhall Cavan Arts Space on Saturday, 8 April 2017.

In this exhibition, entitled ‘A Portrait of this Region’, Nulty presents a series of sculptural assemblages made from assorted items collected from people in her hometown of Cavan. Each artwork is titled with a local Cavan surname.

A recent graduate of I.T. Sligo, Johanna was a successful recipient of the Bullock Lane Residency at Townhall Cavan Arts Space in 2016. Speaking about her time on the residency, she said “I am very appreciative I got this opportunity when just finishing my BA Honours Degree in Fine Art from I.T Sligo and before commencing my Masters Studies.  Townhall is a magnificent art space. Everyone is really welcoming and very supportive.”

Johanna Nulty will exhibit ‘A Portrait of the Region’ at Townhall Cavan for three weeks in April 2017 with an opening event on Saturday, 8 April.  She has selected artist Sally O’Dowd as mentor and curator for this show.

The exhibition will be opened by leading Irish visual artist Aideen Barry at 7pm on Saturday, 8 April and is free to visit.
